By Long Beach Airport

Next to Long Beach Airport, the hotel pairs an 18 ft ceiling ballroom that divides into six salons with aviation-named meeting rooms and a boardroom. We size sound, video and lighting to each room from the hotel's own chart.

The spaces

Room names, sizes and capacities come from the hotel's Events page at marriott.com. Photos are the hotel's own. Production notes describe a typical Above the Line setup for each space.

Grand Ballroom

6,000 sq ft · 60 x 100 ft · 18 ft ceilings · divides into Salons A to F

The hotel's largest room, for up to 650 theater style and 400 at dinner.

Theater 650 · Reception 600 · Banquet 400 · Schoolroom 300

With 18 ft ceilings in the Grand Ballroom, we fly a lighting truss over the stage and run IMAG to two large screens for a 650-seat session.

Salons C and D

1,500 sq ft each · 25 x 60 ft

The two largest ballroom sections, for up to 165 theater style.

Each: Theater 165 · Reception 150 · Banquet 100

For a breakout in Salon C or D, we set the screen at the short end and raise it high enough that the back of the 60 ft room has clear sightlines.

Salons A, B, E and F

750 sq ft each · 25 x 30 ft

Ballroom sections for up to 75 at a reception.

Each: Theater 70 · Reception 75 · Banquet 50

When the ballroom splits into smaller salons, we give each room its own projector and audio, and check the airwalls for sound bleed.

The Post meeting room at Long Beach Marriott set with U-shaped tables

Post and Earhart

600 sq ft each · 20 x 30 ft · 11 ft ceilings

Meeting rooms for up to 37.

Each: Theater 37 · Reception 37 · Banquet 30 · U-shape 25

For a U-shape workshop in Post or Earhart, we place a display at the open end and a conference mic on each table run.

Lindbergh and Rickenbacker

520 to 600 sq ft each · divides into I and II

Two pairs of breakout rooms for up to 38 each.

Rickenbacker I, II: Theater 38 · Lindbergh I, II: Theater 35

For breakouts in Lindbergh and Rickenbacker, we set a projector and screen in each room, with a speakerphone for remote presenters.

The Ruffin meeting room at Long Beach Marriott with a conference table and wall display

Ruffin Boardroom

323 sq ft · 26.7 x 12.1 ft

A boardroom for meetings of up to 10.

Conference 10

For a board meeting in the Ruffin Boardroom, we add a camera bar and table mics to the wall display for video calls.
