The California Ballroom at Sheraton Grand Los Angeles set theater style facing a stage with three screens

California Ballroom

10,000 sq ft · 100 x 100 ft · 16 ft ceilings · divides into California A–F

The hotel's ballroom, for general sessions and receptions of up to 900 and dinners of up to 700.

Theater 900 · Reception 900 · Banquet 700 · Schoolroom 500

For a 900-seat general session in the California Ballroom, we set a center screen with two side screens, and use the 16 ft ceiling to fly the speakers and lights.

California Ballroom sections

1,176 to 6,600 sq ft

Sections A–F combine into a range of mid-size rooms, from a single salon to four.

California A/B/D/E: Theater 600 · Banquet 480 · Reception 400

When the ballroom splits for concurrent sessions, we give each section its own projector, screen and audio, and check the airwalls for sound bleed.

California Foyer

3,700 sq ft · 37 x 100 ft

Pre-function space outside the ballroom, for receptions of up to 300.

Reception 300

For registration and a reception in the California Foyer, we set digital signage at the doors and background music on small speakers.

Wiltern Room

3,444 sq ft · divides into Wiltern A, B and C

The largest of the hotel's meeting rooms, for receptions and banquets of up to 200.

Reception 200 · Banquet 200 · Theater 180 · Schoolroom 150

For a 180-seat session in the Wiltern Room, we put two screens on the long wall, so every row has a clear sightline under the 10 ft ceiling.

El Capitan and Orpheum Rooms

1,750 and 2,000 sq ft · each divides into A and B

Two meeting rooms named for downtown theaters, for sessions of up to 150.

El Capitan: Theater 150 · Reception 150 · Banquet 120 · Schoolroom 80

For a breakout in El Capitan, we use a single projector and screen, a podium mic and two wireless handhelds for questions.

Los Angeles Room, Palace Room and Oviatt

810 to 840 sq ft

Smaller rooms for breakouts, board meetings and working lunches.

Oviatt: Theater 50 · Reception 45 · Banquet 40 · Conference 24

For a board meeting in Oviatt, we add one display and a conference camera bar, so remote attendees can join.
