Shutters on the Beach, the beachfront hotel at 1 Pico Boulevard in Santa Monica, hosts meetings, conferences and weddings in the Grand Salon, the Promenade, Beachside and Oceanside, and outdoors on the Pacific Terrace. Above the Line provides audio, video, lighting and LED for events across the hotel.
Shutters sits directly on the beach, and its rooms have ceilings of 7 to 9 feet and plenty of daylight. We plan wide screens, bright displays and even sound for those rooms, and weather-ready gear for the oceanfront terrace, from the hotel's own capacity chart.

With a 9-foot ceiling, we keep screens wide rather than tall, fly nothing heavy, and add a second screen or delay speakers for the back half of a 400-seat theater set.

Because the room is 76 feet long, a full session gets the screen on the short wall plus a mid-room repeat display, so the back rows can read the slides.

As breakouts, each section gets one display and its own small speaker, with mics only where a session will be recorded or streamed.

With a 7-foot ceiling, projection is tight, so we use large LED monitors and keep speakers on low stands to hold sound evenly along the room.
Beachside also works as a private dining room for a long-table dinner by the windows.
For a dinner here, background music and one wireless mic for toasts are usually all it needs, with lighting kept low and warm.

For a board meeting, a single monitor, a conference camera and table mics give remote attendees a clear view and sound.
With a single long table, Oceanside works as a boardroom with a view.
We place the display on the inside wall so the windows stay clear, and run cables under the table to keep the room tidy.

On the terrace we plan for the ocean breeze, use weather-rated speakers aimed in toward guests, and add warm lighting for after sunset.
The hotel's wedding page names the Pacific Terrace as its ceremony site above the ocean.
For vows, a lavalier on the officiant and a discreet speaker pair carry the ceremony over the sound of the surf.
